Pu‘unene Shopping Center – Kahului, Maui, Hawaii

MGA was hired by TRC Retail to aid in the Design and Development of a new shopping center in Kahului, Maui. Stretching across a 24.45 acre lot, the mall was already anchored by a recently completed Target store.

The design of the mall centered around the Nene bird – as evident in much of the facade of the buildings. It paid homage to the native Hawaiian bird, incorporating its distinct feathers, coloring, and markings – all the while maintaining a modern look and feel.

Over the course of 4 years, MGA helped to develop the remainder of the site with 11 additional buildings, complete with parking, landscape and traffic studies. Once the mall’s shell was complete, MGA was also hired by several stores to complete their Tenant Improvements within the mall.
