The beautiful opening dedication and traditional Hawaiian blessing for the Daniel K. Akaka State Veterans Home makes the front page of the Star Advertiser!
Matt Gilbertson, President of MGA Architecture, was in attendance with fellow Architecture & Design team members, the late U.S. Senator’s family including his wife Millie Akaka, his son Daniel Akaka Jr., as well as family members of Retired Air Force Col. Ron Han Jr. (who oversaw the project and passed in 2023), Christine Kinimaka, Governor Josh Green, and the facility’s first six residents.
