American Savings Bank – Kapolei

The American Saving Bank branch building located in the fast-growing town of Kapolei on the leeward side of Oahu.

MGA’s design vision is to integrate seamlessly into the urban landscape while continuing to implement the brand standards of ASB. The materials are chosen based on utilizing the urban nature concept and natural colors and materials consistent with the Kapolei Design Advisory Board.  Cast sculpted decorative panel at the corners are inspired by traditional Hawaiian motif.  Coral Stone veneer and stone tile wrap at the entry provides natural accents.  Concrete tile roof is consistent with the neighboring buildings.

MGA introduced sustainable products such as the first installation on Oahu of the ViewGlass window system to create an energy efficient environment benefitting both ASB and the town of Kapolei.  The site has a generous landscape buffer to the public right of way with pervious pavement, walkways, ADA accommodations and a bicycle rack.
